Sticky Notes Mayhem: The Sticky Note Attack At School

This is it, folks! The fourth act of Laney’s Guerilla Street Art project is here! We’ve been to many adventures with each arc of this project and in this arc we will be going on yet another adventure with sticky notes! Yes, you heard that right! The fourth act of this project is about spreading a total of 20 sticky notes around school and we’ve only got 2 weeks to do this. So, I will be sharing 10 sticky notes per week, and that would be 2 sticky notes from Monday to Friday, so it’s not as full time as the previous arc, but there much more thinking with the sticky notes’ contents in this one.

But, before we jump straight in, I will explain a little bit about this Guerilla Street Art project I’m talking about. Like the name suggests, this project is where I put various art in the street, as in, I made a couple of different crafts and spread in around my school, in various places, of course. We’ve gone through 3 arcs before which is, the postcard act, where I made hand-drawn postcards and put them in random books at the school library, the polaroid act, where I take photos of hidden places around school and printed them into a polaroid and put them on random trees and poles around school, and the origami act, where I made bookmark origamis of different animals and spread them around in places at school where I thought it could camouflage them.

For the next 2 weeks, I will be making 3 types of sticky notes in a pattern. The first type are doodles, I will draw random doodles on this one. The second type are quotes, I will be taking quotes from my favorite songs and write it down the sticky notes. And the third type are riddles, like classic mind-bending riddles to get people thinking.

Another thing to take account of is sticky note colors. I currently have 5 colored sticky notes, which is pastel yellow, pastel pink, pastel blue, pastel green, and pastel purple. Since they’re all pastels, let’s call them by their normal names. Since I have 5, I will use each sticky notes twice in a week, because I will be sharing 10 of them every week. And by the end of this arc, I would have used 4 sticky notes each color, that is, if I don’t make any mistake. So, now that we’ve covered everything, let’s do this!

The first sticky note is a doodle note, and I made doodles of my famous sandwich, layer by layer. The first layer is toasted bread, the second is a sunny side up. third is double cheese, fourth is 2 huge smoke beefs, fifth is lettuces, sixth is double cheese again, and seventh, another toasted bread to top it off.

The second sticky note is a quote, and I didn’t write a quote from a song, like I intended to at the start. Instead, I wrote Captain Kirk’s monologue at the start of every Star Trek episode. “Space. The final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship enterprise. It’s five year mission. To explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before.”

The third sticky note is a riddle about sticky notes. I know it sounds confusing but hear me out. "I can take many shapes, but I’m usually square. You can move me from place to place, but after being repositioned too many times, I will fall. What am I?” And in the back I added a clue, saying “P.S. You’re holding it!”

The fourth is a doodle of “types of highschoolers, stereotype ver.” where I made doodles of different high schoolers and give them a title. I made a nerd (with the stereotypical glasses, you know which one. And fun fact, I use that kind of glasses, so I guess that makes me the “nerd”), an “it” girl (with the trendy hairstyle and heavy-natural makeup), a delinquent (who had scars everywhere on their face, and the “punk” hairstyle), an artist (paintbrush over the ear, holding a guitar pick with their mouth, and dramatic theater-kid makeup), an athlete (with eye black, and a football helmet). I only 5 of the stereotypes, because I ran out of space. I guess I’ll make more of these next week.

The fifth sticky note is a quote from Green Day’s Governator. It goes like “It seems like everything was just a fraction of a second from being a dream, so run and hide because we're all gonna die, let the government decide what's left.” It seemed a little controversial at the moment, especially because I go to a public school (the one the government funded). And our teachers are civil workers, so I guess I don’t want them to find this one. I hope someone who despises the government as much as I do found this sticky note.

“One’s company, two’s a…” The sixth sticky note is a complete-the-sentence riddle. This is a pretty easy one, and if you can't tell, the answer is ‘crowd’.

The seventh sticky note is a doodle of types of clocks. On which I made a hand watch, a wall clock, an alarm clock, and a grandfather clock. I drew them using a thin 01 fine liner and added little hatchings on each drawings without coloring, and I think I like this type of art style on a sticky note.

The eighth sticky note is a quote from one of the most legendary Rage Against The Machine song… Can you guess which one? It's No Shelter. And I took the most iconic part too, “Cinema, simulated life, ill drama. Fourth Reich culture, Americana. Chained to the dream they got you searchin' for. The thin line between entertainment and war.”

The ninth sticky note is a riddle about death. “Most people fear me, but the rest wants me. Yet, in the end, they all ended up with me anyway. What am I?” I made it sound a little confusing, but that's because I don't wanna use crazy synonyms that people don't know.

And finally, last sticky note is a doodle of ‘rate the teacher!’, where I made doodles of five of our teacher and leave a space for someone to rate them. I chose our chemistry teacher (she's pretty cool, but her lectures were boring, I'd say.), our sociology teacher (she doesn't explain things well, so I get so overwhelmed when it's sociology period), our history teacher (he's the most knowledgeable teacher we've had, but his jokes were not it…), our physics teacher (who's also our homeroom teacher, I have very little opinion about her because she rarely ever teach us something, and we're all failing in physics because of that), and lastly our guidance counseling teacher (she said it's okay to confide in anything with her, but I don't trust that one bit).

Doing this sticky notes arc was a challenge for me because I had a hundred different things going on this week, I hope I will be less busy next week but who could say nonetheless? But I hope you still enjoyed what I’ve came up with this week for sticky notes arc and see you next week!
